Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday nabbed Nrusingha Charan Rout, RI (Revenue Inspector), Goda & I/C RI, Padmapur under Ersama Tahasil in Jagatsinghpur district, while demanding and accepting Rs 6,000 bribe from a complainant to submit an inquiry report in his favour in a mutation case. The entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of the accused Rout and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are underway at two locations of Rout from the disproportionate assets (DA) angle.
A case has been registered in this connection against Rout at the Cuttack Vigilance police station under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption, Amendment, Act, 2018. The searches are continuing and detailed reports follow.
