New Delhi: Former West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar was today sworn in as the 14th Vice President of India.
President Droupadi Murmu administered the Oath of Office of Vice-President to Dhankhar at a brief swearing-in ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan today morning.
A renowned lawyer Dhankhar took over as the 14th Vice-President of India and Chairman of Rajya Sabha. Dhankhar took the oath in Hindi in the name of god.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dhankhar’s predecessor M Venkaiah Naidu were among the dignitaries present at the ceremony.
Dhankhar visited Rajghat in the morning and paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi prior to taking oath.
