Jajpur: In a move aimed at reducing road accidents, Jajpur District Collector P. Anvesha Reddy has prohibited unauthorised parking of goods vehicles along the main carriageways of key national highways passing through the district.
According to an official notification issued on Thursday, goods carriers parked illegally on NH-16, NH-53, and NH-20 are obstructing the movement of emergency and essential service vehicles, creating a significant risk of accidents.
To ensure public safety, the district administration has prohibited such parking for one month on the following highway stretches:
NH-16: From Sathipur to Nelia
NH-53: From Balichandrapur to Duburi
NH-20: From Panikoili to Ragadi Chhak
The directive is expected to ease traffic flow and reduce the likelihood of accidents along these busy routes.
