Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths arrested Dr Pabitra Kumar Sethi, LRT, Medical Officer, Danagadi CHC, in Odisha’s Jajpur district, along with a security guard Abhiram Kandi while demanding and accepting a bribe worth Rs 20,000 from a complainant for issuing the post-mortem report of the latter’s father, who died on March 31 due to lightning.
Acting on the complaint lodged by the security guard, the Vigilance sleuths set up a trap and recovered the entire bribe money from the possession of Dr Sethi
Following the arrests, Vigilance officials have launched simultaneous searches at three locations related to Dr Sethi from disproportionate assets (DA) angle.
A case (No. 08 dt.18.04.23 under Section 7 Prevention of Corruption Act – Amendment 2018) has been registered in this connection at the Cuttack Vigilance police station. Further investigation is underway against the accused Dr Sethi and Kandi.
