Bhubaneswar: The State Government has decided to develop the age-old Vyasa Sarovar in the Jajpur district into a place of tourist attraction.
To get a perspective of the proposed project, Chief Secretary Suresh Mahapatra visited the Vyasa Sarovar today and reviewed the ground-level situation.
This is a place of mythological significance. It will be further developed into a place of tourist attraction, an official stated. During Mahapatra’s visit, Collector Chakraborty Singh Rathor presented the blueprint for the development of the spot.
It was decided to have depictions of the Mahabharata age and legends about the mythical war of Mahabharata along with a tourist facilitation center, cafeteria, refreshment facilities to enhance the tourism potential of the spot.
“We reviewed different development projects in the district, which include Vyasanagar, Kalinga Nagar, and Jajpur town. A number of DMF projects are on while other major projects are in the pipeline,” said Mahapatra. The main building of the district headquarters hospital and a main building of the district administration will be completed soon, he added.
