Jan Aushadhi Diwas: CM Majhi Hails Scheme As Boon For Poor, Middle Class Families

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended warm wishes to all on Jan Aushadhi Diwas 2026, highlighting the impact of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) in making healthcare more affordable for the poor and middle-class families.

He praised the scheme, launched under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, for providing quality generic medicines at significantly lower prices than market rates through over 800 Jan Aushadhi centers in Odisha.

Majhi emphasized that the scheme is a boon for those suffering from chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension, reducing healthcare costs and providing financial security to countless families.

He urged citizens to make Jan Aushadhi centres a part of their healthcare ecosystem, ensuring affordable and reliable healthcare for all.

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for this revolutionary initiative, which is contributing to building a healthy and empowered India.

He called upon everyone to come together to create a healthier and more prosperous Odisha and India.

Taking to his X handle, CM wrote: “Greetings to all on #JanAushadhiDiwas2026! Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, the ‘Prime Minister Indian Generic Medicine Scheme’ (PMBJP) has become a lifeline for the poor and middle-class families. In Odisha, over 800 Jan Aushadhi centers are providing affordable and quality generic medicines to every citizen. These centers are reducing healthcare costs and providing financial security to countless families by offering medicines and medical equipment at significantly lower prices than market rates.”

He further wrote: “This scheme is a boon, especially for chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension. Let’s pledge to make Jan Aushadhi centers a part of our healthcare ecosystem, ensuring affordable and reliable healthcare for all. I express my gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for this revolutionary initiative towards building a healthy and empowered India. Let’s come together to create a healthier and more prosperous Odisha and India.”
