**Bhubaneswar**: While the State Government is keen on attracting foreign investments, under Naveen Patnaik’s flagship ‘Make in Odisha’ campaign, the Japanese business fraternity has expressed interest for investing in the state. In a significant development on these front, a business community from Japan is on visit to Odisha.
On Friday, members of the Business Standing Committee of Japan, led by Muneo Kurauchi met Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi. Addressing mediapersons after the meeting, Kurauchi said, “the stake holders of Japanese community are impressed with the proposals put forth by the industry bodies of Odisha.”
In October 2017, a State Government delegation led by Industry Secretary Sanjeev Chopra visited Japan to promote industrial avenues in Odisha. The delegation met their Japanese counterparts and discussed sectors such as tourism, chemicals, plastics and petrochemicals.
