Jashipur Police Arrests 8 Members Of Inter-Dist Gang Of Electric Pole Thieves

Jashipur(Mayurbhanj): Jashipur police have arrested eight members of an inter-district gang of thieves from Kalinga Nagar area of Jajpur district. The gang members were involved in the theft of electric poles.

According to reports, police have seized 25 electric poles, a pick-up van, two gas cylinders, cutting equipment and one crowbar from their possession.

The accused persons have been identified as Gopinath Sethi, Tapan Das, Deepak Bera, Kanhu Charan Sethi, Susant Mallick of Jajpur district, Bal Swami Angadi of Pune, Salamat Khan of Bhadrak and Laxman Hansda of Badampahar in Mayurbhanj district, reports said.

Over the last few days theft of electric poles was reported from Jashipur, Karanjia, Thakurmunda, Mahuldiha, Raruan, Sukruli of Mayurbhanj district and some places in Keonjhar district, reports added.
