Bhubaneswar: A 32-year-old Jatra actor was electrocuted to death while cleaning a campaign vehicle in Talachua village under Rajnagar block in Kendrapara district, on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Prakash Gochhayat, a member of the Rangamahal Jatra Troupe.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Prakash was washing the vehicle used for campaigning. He was rushed to the Rajnagar Community Health Centre, where doctors declared him dead after tests.
Prakash, a resident of Kishan Nagar, was part of the Rangamahal troupe that was performing in various parts of the district. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
This incident has sent shockwaves among the cultural community in the district, with many expressing their condolences to Prakash’s family.
