Bhubaneswar: The contaminated water led to a jaundice outbreak among students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in Khordha district, Public Health officials today confirmed it.
The confirmation came after two water samples tested positive for water-borne diseases. The water sample collected from the kitchen and water tank was found to have jaundice properties. The jaundice outbreak was not spread due to food contamination or junk food, the department clarified.
Amid rising jaundice infections among students, health authorities investigated the situation and have stepped up preventive measures to contain the spread. Health teams visited schools and conducted inspections.
