Bhubaneswar: A soldier’s wife has reportedly died while undergoing treatment at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) after giving birth to a baby girl.
As per reports, Lipi Ganda (28), a resident of Tengnamal village under Lakhanpur block in Jharsuguda district, was admitted to VIMSAR after delivering the child on April 8 last month. Soon after giving birth to a baby girl, she became critical and she remained unconscious for the last 15 days.
However, Debraj Ganda was with her during that time. As her condition deteriorated, Lipi was shifted to the ICU of the hospital on April 29.
After receiving a call from the Border Security Force amid India-Pakistan tension, Debraj left his wife and infant daughter behind and headed to the border a few days ago. However, the couple’s happiness was short-lived, as Lipi’s condition worsened due to multi-organ failure, and she succumbed to her illness today.
