Bhubaneswar: Results for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced were announced on Friday by Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee at 11:30 am and Sayantan Dhar is the Odisha topper with All India Rank 51.
Dhar is also the fifth topper in Kharagpur zone. He was taking coaching classes from Aakash institute and wants to pursue Computer Science Engineering. “I would like to thank my parents, teachers and friends for constantly guiding and supporting me,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sambit Behera of Bhubaneswar is the All India topper in Scheduled Caste category. Behera had cracked the JEE (Main) examination 2019 in January with 100 percentile. He was taking coaching classes in Allen Career Institute of Kota for IIT JEE.

3. Total number of qualified general (GE) candidates: 15566
4. Total number of qualified general (GEN-EWS) candidates: 3636
5. Total number of qualified OBC-NCL candidates: 7651
6. Total number of qualified SC candidates: 8758
7. Total number of qualified ST candidates: 3094
Kartikey Gupta Chandresh from Maharashtra has topped the exam with AIR-1 by scoring a total of 346 out of 370 marks. While he has secured AIR 1, Himanshu Singh who hails from Allahabad has secured 2nd Rank in JEE Advanced 2019. The 3rd Rank has been awarded to Archit Bubna from New Delhi.

As per the scores in JEE Advanced, which is the second stage of the engineering entrance exams, students can apply for admission in premier education institutes such as Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc) and Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST).
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will announce the counselling dates after the results of JEE Advanced. As per JEE Mains score, JoSAA would also be conducting the counselling for NITs and IIITs.
