Puri: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren today had ‘darshan’ of Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra at the Shree Jagannath Temple here.
The Soren couple offered prayers and sought the blessings of the Lords.
They also offered prayers to Devi Mahalaxmi and Devi Bimala inside the temple premises.
The couple on arrival at the Bada Danda (Grand Road) here was welcomed by Puri SP Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh.
Later Shree Jagannath Temple Administration and sevayats (servitors) of the temple presented Khandua and a Pattachitra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings to the couple.
“You come to Odisha and don’t have darshan of the Lord how can that be? I came yesterday and today I am here to pay my obeisance to Mahaprabhu Jagannathjee at His durbar,” said Soren to scribes waiting outside the temple.
The Soren couple had arrived in Puri Friday late at night on a private visit and left today for Jharkhand after offering prayers to Lord Jagannath.
