Bhubaneswar: Jharsuguda experienced a significant chill this morning, with temperatures dropping to 5°C at 5 am, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to IMD data, Jharsuguda’s temperature has been steadily decreasing over the past few days. On January 4, it was 13.6°C at 5:30 am, which decreased to 11.4°C the next day. The temperature continued to plummet, reaching 8°C on January 6 and 7.4°C on January 7. There’s been a slight increase to 8.8°C on January 8, but it dropped again to 5.6°C today, January 9.
Meanwhile, the IMD office has predicted that cold wave is likely to grip various regions of the country over the next two weeks. States like Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and North Interior Karnataka may experience cold wave conditions, with temperatures dipping significantly below normal.
