Jharsuguda: Following the spike in the Covid positive cases and deaths of four of its members in the past one week, the District Banik Sangh (union of shop owners and businessmen) has resolved to go in for a week-long shutdown from tomorrow (Saturday September 26).
Speaking to media, Jharsuguda District Merchant Association president Hiralal Lokchandni informed, “Except vegetable, grocery, fruit, fish, egg and meat all shops and markets will remain closed for a week from tomorrow. Only these shops will open from 7 am to 12 noon abiding by strict Covid guidelines and precautions while all medicine stores are of 24×7 mandatorily open being very essential commodities.”
He also informed that this has been decided unanimously by our district association. We will be persuading and convincing those shop owners who would be noticed violating our resolution.
