Jharsuguda: Jharsuguda Town Police have apprehended Govind Singhania, the alleged mastermind behind the illegal gambling operation in the Jhadeshwar Temple area.
The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into illicit gambling activities in the district.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the gambling site on April 16 and arrested several individuals involved in the operation. The suspects were produced in court, and further investigation uncovered additional participants.
Singhania, identified as the primary organizer, was arrested from Raipur on April 18 and was produced before the court today.
Jharsuguda Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Uma Shankar Singh confirmed Singhania’s arrest and court appearance, stating, “The investigation is ongoing to uncover any further connections to this illegal activity.”
