Bhubaneswar: Newly elected Jharsuguda MLA Dipali Das took the oath of office in the Odisha Assembly on Monday morning. Deputy Speaker Rajnikant Singh administered Dipali to take the oath of office and secrecy.
Dipali’s mother and brother were present at the swearing-in ceremony. Ministers Pramila Mallik and Rita Sahu were also present at the event.
It is worth mentioning here that Dipali along with her brother Bishal Das met Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo at Naveen Niwas on Sunday evening and sought his blessings. She thanked the Chief Minister for all his support and for personally seeking votes for her in Jharsuguda. “This victory belongs to the people of Jharsuguda and to the Chief Minister,” she told the media later.
Patnaik also took to his Twitter handle on Sunday and wrote about her meeting with Dipali. “I met BJD candidate Dipali Das who got a historic victory in the Jharsuguda by-poll and advised her to lead the development of Jharsuguda and work dedicatedly to bring change in people’s lives.”
Dipali registered a landslide victory in the Jharsuguda Assembly constituency by-poll winning the seat by a margin of 48,721 votes and defeating her nearest rival Tankadhar Tripathy of the BJP.
