Bhubaneswar: In view of the severe heatwave conditions, the Jharsuguda district administration has announced a three-day holiday in schools and Sishu Vatikas starting tomorrow.
“In view of the prevailing heatwave situation in the district, all schools having classes from Sishu Vatika to XII under Jharsuguda district will remain closed from April 23, 2025, to April 25, 2025,” a notification issued by the District Education Office, Jharsuguda, stated.
Jharsuguda recorded the highest maximum day temperature at 46.2 degrees Celsius today. The IMD has predicted that the heatwave condition will continue for the next couple of days in the district. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari said that the department is planning to close the schools and has sent a proposal in this regard to the Chief Minister, which is likely to get approval in a day or two.
