The initiative, she added, aligns with Bhubaneswar’s vision of becoming a cleaner and more citizen-friendly city.
Mayor Sulochana Das expressed gratitude to Jindal Foundation for its support, stating that the Mobile Sanitation Unit would be particularly beneficial during cultural events, public programmes, and major gatherings. She emphasized that such public-private partnerships play a vital role in enhancing civic infrastructure and maintaining cleanliness standards across the city.
The facility has been thoughtfully designed to ensure comfort, safety, and hygiene in crowded public spaces. The gents’ section includes one western-style toilet, one Indian-style toilet, three urinals, and a wash basin. The ladies’ section comprises two Indian-style toilets, one western-style toilet, and a wash basin. To ensure uninterrupted operations, the unit is equipped with a diesel generator for reliable power backup and multiple exhaust fans in each section to maintain proper ventilation and cleanliness.
