Bhubaneswar: Leading steelmaker Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) has once again demonstrated its leadership in sustainable corporate social responsibility by securing the top honour of Business Excellence in Sustainability Award in the manufacturing category at the 2nd Annual Symposium and Excellence Awards 2024 organised by Indian Chamber of Commerce in New Delhi on October 8.
The prestigious award recognizes the JSP’s tireless efforts, through its social arm, Jindal Foundation, to drive social change, sustainability, and holistic community development across India.
The Award was presented to JSP by Dy Bizunesh Messert Tegegne, the Ambassador of Ethiopia to India, in the presence of Bernld Scholtz, Economic Counsellor and Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to India. The recognition elucidates JSP’s significant contributions across a range of sectors, including education, healthcare, skill development, and environmental sustainability, with the mentoring of its Chairman , the 3rd time Member of Parliament (Kurukshetra), Naveen Jindal.
JSP’s social initiatives, in line with its broader vision of nation-building and empowering the most vulnerable sections of society, align with 16 of 17 sustainable development goals and have had a lasting impact on the lives of marginalised communities.
The award jury commended JSP’s for its comprehensive approach to CSR, which addresses critical social issues while promoting sustainable and inclusive growth.

The Jindal Steel & Power, through its social arm Jindal Foundation, has impacted over 14 million lives through health, education, livelihood, and community development programs over the past years. The initiatives have significantly improved livelihood outcomes in the region, with measurable reductions in poverty, hunger, malnutrition, and unemployment, and imparted awareness to the community on the methods for redressal of the challenges affecting their quality of life.
