Bhubaneswar: A journalist died while another was critically injured after the bike they were travelling on was hit by a Bolero near Sambepadar village under Khajuripada police limits of Kandhamal district on Tuesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Bikash Mishra of Masterpada in Phulbani. The injured journalist is Bikash Digal of Khajuripada. Both of them were working for a web channel.
Reportedly, both of them were returning from Khajuripada after gathering some news when the accident occurred. The Bolero fled from the spot after hitting them.
On receiving information from locals, the fire brigade rescued both of them from the road and admitted them to the Khajuripada Medical Center. From there, both were shifted to the district headquarters hospital.
While the doctor there declared Mishra as dead, Digal is presently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Khajuripada Police have registered a case in this regard and is trying to trace the Bolero.
