Bhubaneswar: After a gap of around four years, journalists of various media organisations on Wednesday were allowed to enter the Lok Seva Bhavan to cover news.

The development came hours after the new BJP government-led by Mohan Majhi took the oath of office.

After the new decision, journalists expressed pleasure and congratulated the new government for the fresh move.

Earlier, the government had imposed restriction on the entry of journalists into the Lok Seva Bhavan in the wake of Covid-19 outbreak in 2020.  However, the government order continued till today even after the pandemic situation was over.

The BJP and the Congress had demanded several times on various occasions in the past to curb the restrictions for the scribes.

Not only the Lok Seva Bhavan, journalists were barred from entering the press gallery of the Assembly also.
