Bhubaneswar: Three journalists in Ganjam district have been booked by Buguda police on charges of extortion. According to reports, the police acted on a complaint lodged by the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Buguda which stated that three journalists came to his office on October 16 when he was monitoring school cleanliness of Takarada cluster.
The three journalists highlighted absence of the BEO in his office and blackmailed him to report the matter on media, the complaint stated. They allegedly demanded money from the BEO to suppress the ‘fabricated news’, the BEO, Rasananda Kar stated. Buguda police have registered a case in this matter and investigating further.
