Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Wednesday apprehended Choudhury Papun Kumar Dash, Junior Revenue Assistant (JRA) , Collectorate, Boudh while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 25,000 from a vendor.
According to an official press release of the Odisha Vigilance, Dash was caught demanding and accepting the bribe from the proprietor (Complainant) of a firm dealing with aquarium products to process file for clearing his pending bill towards setting up an Aquarium Project in Boudh District Museum in the year 2021-22.
The entire bribe money of Rs 25,000 has been recovered from exclusive possession of accused Dash, JRA and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Dash from disproportionate assets (DA) angle.
Odisha Vigilance has registered a case under section 7 of the PC Act against Dash at Berhampur Vigilance police station.
Further investigation against Dash is in progress.
