Balasore: The judicial custody of Samir Sahu, the suspended Head of Department (HOD) of Education in connection with the Balasore FM Autonomous College student suicide case, has been extended by another 14 days.

The SDJM Court passed the order on Thursday after Sahu’s initial 14-day custody period ended. Sahu was earlier arrested in connection with the alleged abetment of suicide of a female student at FM College, a case that has sparked public outrage and led to ongoing protests demanding strict action against those responsible.

Meanwhile, the 14-day judicial custody of the college principal, also arrested in connection with the case, is set to expire on Sunday.

The case continues to draw significant attention across the state as investigations progress.
