Bhubaneswar: Creating miniature sculptures is a devotion of Jatni-based artist L Eshwar Rao who has again dedicated his talent to Lord Jagannath or Juggernaut and his siblings on the eve of Rath Yatra by sculpting miniature models of the three chariots with the Holy Trinity mounted on them.
Eshwar used 52 chalk pieces, 101 match sticks, and paper to build the chariots. Each chariot is 7.5 inches in height and 3.5 inches in width. The idols inside the chariots are 1-inch tall and are made of neem wood. It took him 15 days to complete the work of art.
With the distinction of sculpting a series of miniature art and sculptures, Eshwar has been practicing the art form for over 20 years. His unique works include stone crafts in bottles, soap carving, wood carving, coal carving, stone carving, and tamarind seeds carving.
