Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths arrested Pradipta Kumar Sahoo, Junior Assistant (in charge of Accounts) at the Khordha Block Education Office for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 6,000.
The bribe was taken from a complainant to facilitate the release of the bill of differential pay in favour of his sister who is a retired primary school teacher towards her incremental benefits
The anti-graft officials caught Sahoo red-handed and recovered the entire bribe amount. Odisha Vigilance is conducting searches at one of his locations to investigate disproportionate assets.
A case has been registered under Section 7 of the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018, at Bhubaneswar Vigilance. The investigation is ongoing.
