Bhubaneswar: A retired junior clerk of Rural Works Division, Phulbani was convicted and sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment in a corruption case.
A special vigilance court in Phulbani also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Amulya Kumar Sahu and ordered him to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for three months in default of payment of fine.
Sahu was charge-sheeted by Berhampur wing of Odisha under section 7 P.C. Amendment Act, 2018 for demanding and accepting bribe from a retired government employee of the same office for processing and preparing his bill for release of grade pay and gratuity arrear.
The Vigilance will now move the competent authority for the stoppage of the pension of Sahu following his conviction.
