Bhubaneswar: A Junior Engineer (JE) was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while accepting bribe of Rs 4,000 for processing a file of the plan approval of the building in Ganjam district.
The vigilance caught Sagarika Mohanty, JE of Buguda NA in Ganjam red-handed while she accepted the Rs 4,000 from a person to process the file of the plan approval of the building in favour of his father.
The entire bribe money has been recovered and seized, vigilance said.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Mohanty from DA angle.
In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance registered a case under section 7 P.C Amendment Act. The investigation is in progress against the accused JE, officials said.
