Bhubaneswar: A private engineering college lecturer, who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital after falling from the roof of the educational institution on June 11, died on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Barsha Mishra, a resident of Keonjhar district. She was working as a junior lecturer in the computer science department of a private engineering college under Tamando police limits on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, Barsha had sustained severe injuries after falling from the college roof and was undergoing treatment. She, however, succumbed to her injuries on Friday.
Meanwhile, Barsha’s family filed a complaint with Tamando police accusing one of her professors of pushing her from the college roof.
According to the deceased’s brother, Barsha had rung her mother a few days back informing the latter that she was abused by the Head of Department (HOD) of the Computer Science Department. The HOD had reportedly had thrown Barsha’s phone when Barsha wanted her to talk to her mother. Sometime after this incident, they received the news that she had fallen from the college roof.
Barsha’s family meanwhile demanded stringent action against the HOD.
