Jajpur: A shocking video has emerged from Binjharpur in Jajpur, showcasing a heart-wrenching incident of violence against a woman.
The victim has been identified as Sulochana Sahoo, a resident of Kantipur under Binjharpur police limits.
As per reports, the victim’s house was damaged when a neighbour’s tree fell on it, and despite promises of compensation, the neighbours, Akshay Roy and others have reneged on their commitments.
Instead, they sold the adjacent land to another individual, prompting Sulochana to protest. In retaliation, the neighbours subjected her to inhumane torture, including physical assault and verbal abuse in front of a large number of people.
Sulochana has repeatedly approached the police administration, but her pleas have fallen on deaf ears. The perpetrators have even threatened her differently-abled son.
At a time when the Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is giving stress on the importance of respecting women, but Bijnharpur police seem to be working in contradiction to this spirit.
Sulochana has, meanwhile, sought justice for the unbearable suffering inflicted upon her.
