Justice (Retd) JP Das To Monitor CB Probe Into Naba Das’ Murder

Bhubaneswar: Retired Orissa High Court Judge Justice JP Das will supervise as well as monitor the Crime Branch probe into the murder of Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das.

Early this week, the Odisha government handed over the murder case to the Crime Branch, saying that the probe will be monitored by a sitting or retired judge of the High Court.

However, the Opposition BJP has demanded a CBI probe into the matter saying that it would not be correct to hand over the probe to the Crime Branch because a police ASI, Gopal Krusha Das, has been accused of shooting the minister. Handing over the probe to the CBI would ensure transparency, the BJP claimed.

Meanwhile, the CB has taken Gopal Krushna Das on four-day remand for further questioning.
