Justice Served: Five Accused Sentenced To Life For Beating Four Brothers To Death In Ganjam

Bhubaneswar: Aska Additional District Judge sentenced five persons to life imprisonment for killing four brothers mercilessly over an issue on passing of comments at a couple. The incident took place at Hinjili In Ganjam district in 2022.

According to sources, four sons of Manglu Swain identified as Raja Swain, Sambhu Swain, Pandab Swain and Chandan Swain of Narendrapur village were beaten to death at Pital Square over an issue pertaining to the passing of comments.

Based on a complaint, police launched an investigation and arrested Amiya Kumar Swain, Bahan Pati, Santosh Swain, Milan Swain and Chandrasen Sethi and forwarded them to court.

As per the petition, three siblings Sambhu Swain, Pandab Swain, Raja Swain and their minor cousin Chandan Swain allegedly attacked and beaten to death by the accused after they opposed them for passing lewd comments at a couple. The ADJ Court, Aska pronounced the order based on the statement of 26 witnesses.

Trilochan Parida, the public prosecutor, said, “ASK ADJ Court heard the sensational murder case involving the death of three sons and nephew of Mangulu Swain in 2022. Taking the statements of witnesses into consideration, the court sentenced the accused arrested in this connection to life imprisonment.”
