Kabaddi Player Dies During Tournament In Nuapada

Nuapada:  In a tragic incident, a young Kabaddi player, Khageshwar Rathia (26) died after collapsing in the field during a match in Tarbod village under Komna block in Nuapada district on Monday.

According to reports, Khageshwar, from Dudumchua village in Chhattisgarh, collapsed while playing in an inter-state Kabaddi  tournament organised by the Tarbod Durga Puja Committee. He was immediately rushed to Tarbod PHC (Primary Health Center) and after being provided with first aid was shifted to the district headquarters hospital here.

Khageshwar suddenly fell ill. Players and organisers quickly took him to Tarbod Health Center for treatment.

However, Khageswar was pronounced dead by the doctors at the district headquarters hospital.

As news of Khageswar’s death spread, a pall of gloom descended in the area.
