Bhubaneswar: Rama Chandra Kadam, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Leader and Pottangi MLA, has urged Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to urgently convene a special session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly.
In a letter dated May 10, released to the public on Tuesday, Kadam emphasized the need for immediate discussions on the recent Pahalgam terror attack, the ongoing Operation Sindoor, and the India-Pakistan ceasefire announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Kadam’s letter follows similar appeals by Congress national President Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, who on Sunday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to call a special Parliament session to address these critical issues.
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Kadam wrote, “The Pahalgam terror attack, Operation Sindoor, and the ceasefire declared by President Trump demand urgent deliberation. A special session of the Assembly is vital to enable elected representatives to discuss these developments and reaffirm our commitment to national security and unity.” He pressed the Chief Minister to act swiftly on this pressing request.
Previously, Kadam had made similar appeals to Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Majhi, and Speaker Surama Padhy, calling for a special Assembly session to condemn the Pahalgam attack and express solidarity with the victims’ families.
