Bhubaneswar: The Kalabaisakhi rain has brought respite from the scorching heat-wave in Odisha, with thunderstorms expected to continue till April 17.
According to the regional meteorological centre, thunderstorms are likely to occur in various parts of the state, with the intensity expected to be more pronounced on April 13, 14, and 15.
A yellow warning has been issued for eight districts today, including Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapara. Yesterday evening, a black cloud shadowed over Bhubaneswar, bringing rain and hailstorms to the city and other districts like Nayagarh, Ganjam, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
The weather department predicts that the storm will continue in some places even if it subsides on April 16 and 17.
