Bhubaneswar: The scorching heat in Odisha has been providing some respite due to the ongoing Kalbaisakhi rain. The state is experiencing thundershowers and light rains in various parts, with a possibility of rain and thunder till April 25.
The Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Center has issued an alert for thundershowers and hail in several districts. A yellow warning has been issued for 13 districts, including Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, and Nuapada.
According to the Meteorological Department, these districts may experience thunderstorms with winds of 30-40 km/h and up to 50 km/h in some areas. The department has attributed the rain to two active trough lines over the state and predicted that the Kalbaisakhi effect will continue in South Odisha tomorrow.
