Balasore: In an inspiring display of humanity, police personnel in Balasore district went beyond the call of duty to save the day for a pregnant woman in distress.
The incident took place in the Kamarda area of Bhogarai block on Friday morning. A pregnant woman from Badamanda Runi village had gone into labour, but her family could not arrange for a 108 ambulance or even a car. Desperate, her relatives stood by the roadside, hoping to find a passing vehicle to reach the hospital.
At that time, a police team from Kamarda police station, headed towards Jaleswar on patrol, noticed a woman and a man crying for help. On learning about the situation, the officers immediately halted their van, brought the woman on board, and rushed her to the Kamarda Community Health Centre without a moment’s delay.
Local residents praised the timely action, calling it an example of how compassionate policing can make a life-saving difference.
