**Bhubaneswar: ** Putting an end to all the speculations, sitting MP of Kandhamal Pratyusha Rajeshwari Singh today joined BJP after her recent resignation from BJD on being denied ticket for the upcoming general elections-2019.
Soon after her resignation from BJD on March 20, talks were doing rounds that she would defect to BJP. But midway, it was said that she would join Congress as her late husband, the royal scion of Nayagarh, was originally a Congressman and had later switched over to BJD in February 2014 just before the general elections. He had been the Kandhamal MP then and following his premature demise, his wife Rajeswari fought the by-poll as a BJD ticket holder and retained the Kandhamal MP seat.
However, she was formally embraced by BJP today here at Odisha BJP Legislature Party leader K.V. Singhdeo’s residence in presence of Odisha BJP president Basant Panda, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP national vice-president-cum-spokesperson Baijayant Panda.
In her media reactions, she said that she would like to work for the people of Nayagarh parrying question if she would be BJP’s Kandhamal MP candidate.
When being further asked why she did not join Congress, she replied that several parties were in touch with her soon after she quit BJD.
