Bhubaneswar: In a heart-wrenching incident, a four-year-old died after swallowing a small plastic toy that came inside a packet of chips.
This shocking incident took place in Musumaha Pada near Shikaramaha village under Brahmanigaon police limits in Kandhamal district.
The deceased toddler has been identified as the son of Ranjit Pradhan.
According to reports, the child was playing with a plastic toy that was part of a chips packet. The boy accidentally swallowed the toy, and unfortunately, the toy got stuck in his throat. As a result, the toddler had difficulty to breath. The family rushed the child to Daringbadi Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the locality.
