Kandhamal’s Separated Conjoined Twin Jaga Returns Home

Cuttack: Jaga, one of the separated conjoined twins belonging to Kandhamal district was discharged from SCB Medical College and Hospital today. A team of doctors allowed his parents to take Jaga home after diagnosing his medical condition.

Jaga and his parents left for their village in Milipada of Kandhamal district today afternoon in a 108 ambulance. The child will get medical attention at a hospital near his village, said sources. Jaga had recovered from the craniopagus surgery at AIIMS while his brother Balia succumbed to complications few months back.

“On basis of the recommendation of the doctors, Jaga has been sent to the Phulbani hospital after getting approval from the State government,” SCB MCH’s Emergency Officer Bhubananda Moharana said. In October 2017, Jaga and Balia, conjoined twins from Kandhamal were separated after a marathon surgery at AIIMS, New Delhi.

Pushpanjali Kanhar, Jaga’s mother
