Bhubaneswar: The Health Department has issued a directive to all seven Government Medical Colleges and Hospitals to dedicate beds for Monkeypox patients.
In a letter to the Government MCHs, the Directorate of Health stated, “Make two isolation beds functional in each MCH for management of Monkeypox (MPX) cases if detected and admitted.”
A faculty member of the MCH should be declared as Nodal Officer for the institution to coordinate this activity.
The leading medical colleges and Cuttack, Burla and Berhampur should keep an action plan ready to expand the facility in case of need, the letter added.
