Bhubaneswar: Collector-cum-Managing Trustee of District Mineral Foundation (DMF), Keonjhar Ashish Thakare today distributed around 38 electric motorized wheelchairs to People with Disabilities (PwDs) during the District Level Joint Hearing of Public Grievances.
The electric motorized wheelchairs were distributed under DMF Sakshyam – Advanced Rehabilitation Centre (ARC), Keonjhar, said an official press release.
Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer Zilla Parishad (CDO-cum-EO ZP) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) DMF Keonjhar; Additional District Magistrate (General), Keonjhar; Executive Officer (EO) Kendujhar Municipality; District Social Security Officer (DSSO) Keonjhar; Chief District Medical & Public Health Officer (CDM&PHO) Keonjhar; and other district officials were present during the distribution.
It is pertinent to mention here that DMF Sakshyam – Advanced Rehabilitation Centre (ARC) Keonjhar was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on November 18 in 2021.
A total of 370 nos of Motorized Wheelchairs, 231 nos of Artificial limbs, and 5 nos of High-end limbs have been distributed and 1,141 Robotic Therapy Sessions have been provided till date.
Free-of-cost distribution of Electric Motorized Wheelchairs, Artificial Limbs, and High-end limbs is a continuous process and a greater number of disabled beneficiaries in Keonjhar have been identified.
They shall be provided with Electric Motorized Wheelchairs, Artificial Limbs, and High-end limbs on a regular basis.
These Electric Motorized Wheelchairs are very beneficial for enhanced mobility of the PWCs and CWCs.
These high-end Electric Motorized Wheelchairs with Joystick include an ‘Ergonomic seat system that provides comfortable seating; Reclining and folding backrest; Adjustable Height and detachable armrest, footrest; 24V 20 AH Battery’ among others.
