Bhubaneswar/ Delhi: A day before the DG-IG Conference 2024 in Bhubaneswar, Khalistani separatist and Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) founder Gurpatwant Singh Pannun released a video threatening to disrupt the event to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and NSG Ajit Doval.
Threatening the conference, Pannun called Bhubaneswar a “terror city”. He has released a video message stating the “axis of evil Modi-Shah-Doval is bringing the biggest security threat to Bhubaneswar.”
Pannun wants Maoists, Naxals, Khalistani and Kashmiri fighters to disrupt the conference. “Disrupt and stop the DGP Terror Conference where under the influence of violent Hindutva ideology, they plan and orchestrate killings of pro-Khalistan Sikhs, Kashmiri fighters, Naxals and Maoists,” the Pannum said in his message.
Pannun dared the Prime Minister to visit Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar to meet devotees and urged his supporters to disguise and take cover in temples-hotels in Bhubaneswar to disrupt the DG-IG conference.
Meanwhile, Odisha DGP YB Khurania said that unprecedented security arrangements were already in place in the capital city to avoid any untoward incident. “We are on high alert and have taken foolproof security measures for the smooth conduct of the three-day national conference,” he told the media.
Bhubaneswar is under a massive security blanket and multiple areas have been declared as no-flying and no-drone zones. As many as 39 platoons of police and additional SPG, CRPF and BSF personnel have been deployed across the city.
Prime Minister Modi is slated to arrive in Bhubaneswar on Friday around 4.15 pm on Friday.
