Bhubaneswar: The Magha Saptami Mela (Khandagiri Mela) will be observed without participation of devotees.
“The Magha Saptami Mela (Khandagiri Mela) will be allowed inside the temple with usual rituals without participation of devotees with strict adherence to Covid-19 safety protocols,” reads an order issued by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Religious congregations, celebrations, opera, erection of temporary stalls for selling different items are strictly prohibited, the BMC order added.
The order clarified that the decision was taken in view of public safety as it was apprehended that maintenance of social distancing as per Covid-19 safety will not be possible due to expected large congregation which will endanger public safety.
