Khariar MLA Duryodhan Majhi Resigns From BJP

22 March 2019

Bhubaneswar: Sitting MLA of Khariar and former Minister Duryodhan Majhi resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday.

In his resignation letter to BJP Odisha unit president Basant Panda, Majhi stated the reason for his resignation is the party chose another candidate for Khariar Assembly Constituency.

Majhi was vexed after BJP named Rita Rani Bagarti, wife of former BJP MLA Hitesh Bagarti, as its candidate for Khariar Assembly seat.

It is worthwhile to mention that Majhi had resigned from the BJD during 2014 assembly elections after the party denied him a party ticket.
