Bhubaneswar: The oldest and most trusted jewellery brand of Odisha, Khimji Jewellers celebrated its 87 years of legacy on its Foundation Day remembering the founder Late Khimji Dayabhai, the man of history in the jewellery industry of Odisha.
To mark this glorious occasion, the jewellery brand held a food and clothes distribution program for the underprivileged in Bhubaneswar.
Khimji Dayabhai, a skilled craftsman, set up a jewellery store at Baripada, Mayurbhanj in 1936- the same year that the State of Odisha was formed. Soon, he began writing new chapters in jewellery craft with exquisite designs, an eye for detail and an obsession with purity.
In the ensuing journey, he overcame huge adversities like World War II and the Gold Control Act that banned the manufacturing of any jewellery of more than 14 Carat. He remained steadfast, leading to the pioneering of the KD 22K Mark, which became the standard of purity. It should be noted, that the following generation of Khimji Jewellers has persisted in the legacy of purity by introducing hallmark jewellery to the market of Odisha.
The Khimji name has now become synonymous with the finest in jewellery. Khimji’s legacy has been earnestly carried forward by his next generations and lives on the trust of its esteemed customers all across Odisha and beyond.
Speaking about the journey Mitesh Khimji, Director of Khimji Jewellers said, “At Khimji Jewellers we take pride by reminiscing about our origins, celebrating our legacy and giving it back to the society which has made us what we are today. We are thankful to all our valued customers and those who have been with trusting us in this beautiful journey. On our Founder’s Day, we renew our pledge to follow the mantra of truthfulness, trust and purity.”
