Bhubaneswar: Some places in Khurda and Puri may experience light to moderate rain/thunderstorm accompanied by lightning till 1.45 pm on Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning today.
The weather office has advised people to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
Meanwhile, the IMD predicted that several districts of Odisha are likely to experience an increase in the intensity of rain in the state from today under the influence of a new cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal. It has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, and Ganjam districts.
It has also issued a thunderstorm with lightning warning for some places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balasore, Gajapati, and Ganjam districts on Tuesday.
