Bhubaneswar: Acting on allegations of amassing disproportionate assets by Sangram Keshari Jena, who is currently working in the Revenue & Disaster Management Department, Odisha, Bhubaneswar, Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Thursday launched simultaneous house searches at four locations linked to Jena in Khurda district of the state.
The house searches are being done on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar. Altogether, a Vigilance team led by three DSPs and comprising 10 Inspectors and other staff are conducting the house searches.
The house searches are underway at one triple-storyed building of Jena at Jena Colony, Balgaon under Balugaon police limits in Khurda district; one building belonging to Jena at Haripur under Tangi police limits in Khurda; a house of Jena’s relative located at Balugaon near Chuda Mill under Balugaon police limits in Khurda district, and three plots with boundary at Chhotaraypursasan in Banpur in Khurda district of Odisha.
During the house searches the Vigilance sleuths unearthed two multi-storeyed buildings, including one triple-storeyed building worth approximately Rs 1.36 crore, six plots, one benami plot under verification, three four-wheelers along with other assets linked to Sangram Keshari Jena.
Jena earlier served as the tahasildar at Bugada in Ganjam district.
The searches are still underway and further reports are awaited.
