Baripada: Karanjia Police have rescued a teacher who was abducted from the road in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district three days ago reportedly for crypto currency trading. Four people have been arrested in this connection.
According to reports, Rabindra Nath Singh, a teacher at the Dhuduku Primary School in Jashipur block of Mayurbhanj, was kidnapped by miscreants while he was returning home from school on February 10. The kidnappers forcibly took Singh in a car and shifted him to another vehicle near Kalikapur Chhak on National Highway 220.
When the teacher did not return home, his wife filed a complaint at Karanjia police station. Acting on the complaint, the police formed three teams and started an investigation into the teacher’s disappearance. After three days, the police traced the whereabouts of kidnapped teacher and rescued him from a forest in the Talcher area of Angul district.
Along with this, the police also arrested four persons in connection with the kidnapping. The arrested accused includes Saubhagya Das, Brahmananda Naik, Parvathi Kumar Mohanty and a minor from Talcher police limits in Angul district. The police have seized a mobile phone and a vehicle used in the crime from their possession.
The police informed the media that the teacher had misappropriated a sum of Rs 15 lakh. Further investigation into the case is underway.
